This week will be our third week at the market. It's been a slow run up to spring so all we've had so far is spinach, lettuce, radishes and our famous apple tarts. They all sold quite well. People seem very eager to get some fresh local produce, especially after our harsh winter. Peas, carrots and beets are taking their own sweet time. Broccoli is in the ground and will be ready, well, before too long we hope.
Sault Farmer's Market starts next Wednesday. We'll be there with spinach and our famous rustic apple tarts.
We have spinach, lettuce, beets, carrots, peas, and brocolli planted in the hoophouse and many plants under lights ready to go out to the hoophouse once the overnight temps stay consistently above freezing. So this summer look for the above foods and tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, green beans, oregano, basil, celery, squash, cabbage, brussel sprouts and more. |
